[Azar] 관계대명사의 생략

1. 다음과 같이 목적격 관계대명사는 흔히 생략된다.
   
   The man I saw was Mr. Jones.
   The movie we saw last night wasn't very good.
   
   
2. 일반적으로 주격관계대명사는 생략되지 않지만 다음 두 경우에는 주격관계대명사가 생략될 수 있다.
   
   주격관계대명사 + be + -ing
   The man who is talking to John is from Korea.
   The man talking to John is from Korea.
   
   주격관계대명사 + be + -ed
   The ideas which are presented in that book are interesting.
   The ideas presented in that book are interesting.
   
   주격관계대명사 + be + 형용사
   Ann is the woman who is responsible for preparing the budget.
   Ann is the woman responsible for preparing the budget.
   
   주격관계대명사 + be + 전치사구(장소)
   The books that are on that shelf are mine.
   The books on that self are mine.
   
   상태동사의 경우 be 동사가 없더라도 -ing 형태로 나타나는 경우가 있다. (상태동사는 진행형으로 쓰이지 못한다.)
   
   주격관계대명사 + 동사 ==>-ing
   English has an alphabet that consists of 26 letters.
   English has an alphabet consisting of 26 letters.
   
   Anyone who wants to come with us is welcome.
   Anyone wanting to come with us is welcome.
   
   
3. 계속적/비제한적 용법의 경우에는 주격관계대명사 + be가 생략되더라도 콤마는 그대로 쓴다.
   
   George Washington, who was the first president of the United States, was a wealthy colonist and a general in the army.
   
   George Washington, the first president of the United States, was a wealthy colonist and a general in the army.
