Prediction: 미래에 대한 예측, 즉, 미래에 어떤 일이 일어날 것이라고 생각하는 것을 표현하고자 할 때는 will과 be going to를 둘다 쓸 수 있다.
According to the weather report, it will be cloudy tomorrow. According to the weather report, it is going to be cloudy tomorrow.
Be careful! You'll hurt yourself! Watch out! You're going to hurt yourself!
Prior plan: 예정된 것을 표현하려 할 때는 be going to를 쓴다.
Willingness: 즉석에서 의사 결정이 이루어지는 경우에 will을 쓴다.
A: The phone's ringing. B: I'll get it. 전화가 오기전에 전화를 받기로 결정한 것이 아니고, 전화가 오자 즉석에서 전화를 받기로 결정함.
A: I don't understand this problem. B: Ask your teacher about it. She'll help you.
참고 A: Are you busy this evening? B: Yes. I'm going to meet Jack at the libray at seven. We're going to study together. 사전에 계획된 것으로 be going to를 쓴다.
A: Are you busy this evening? B: Well, I really haven't made any plans. I'll eat/I am going to eat dinner, of course. 예정된 것이 아니고, "아마도 만나게 되면 저녁을 먹게 되겠죠"의 뜻을 나타낸다.
