[Azar] 등위접속사

1. 접속사의 기능중의 하나는 동일한 문법적 기능을 가진 단어나, 구, 절을 연결하는 것이다. 이러한 구조를 병치구조(parallel structure)라 한다. 이러한 구조에 쓰이는 접속사를 등위접속사(coordinating conjunction)이라 하며,, and, but, or/nor가 이에 속한다.
2. 명사 + and + 명사
   Steve and his friend are coming to dinner.
3. 동사 + and + 동사
   Susan raised her hand and snapped her fingers.
   
   동사 + and + 동사 구조에서 조동사가 반복하여 나타날 때는 조동사가 생략될 수 있다.
   He is waving his arms and (is) shouting at us.
4. 형용사 + but + 형용사
   These shoes are old but comfortable.
5. 부정사 + or + 부정사
   He wants to watch TV or (to) listen to some music.
6. 등위접속사에 의해 셋 이상의 요소가 연결될 때 각 요소 사이에 콤마를 찍는다. 마지막 콤마 앞에는 콤마가 생략될 수 있으나 일반적으로 쓰는 경향이 있다.
   
   Steve, Joe, and Alice are coming to dinner.
   Susan raised her hand, snapped her fingers, and asked a question.
   The clolors in that fabric are red, gold, black, and green.
